Our engraving process: From idea to heirloom
Every engraving project at Herber Engraving is a collaborative journey. We pride ourselves on creating a unique relationship with each customer, ensuring your vision is perfectly captured.
Step 1: Your initial consultation
Whether you prefer to visit us in person here in Boerne Texas, or chat online, our first step is to understand your vision. We'll discuss what you like, what the item means to you, and explore design templates, fonts for names or numbers.
Step 2: Design and approval
After our discussion, I will draw out the design for you. I'll then send you a picture for your review and feedback. Your satisfaction with the drawing is crucial before we proceed to the next stage. We ensure every detail aligns with your expectations.
Step 3: The engraving begins
Once you approve the design, the engraving process begins! I dedicate my time and expertise to meticulously craft your piece. We require a 20% upfront payment to start the work, with the remaining balance due upon pickup.
Step 4: Pickup and final payment
When your custom engraving is complete, you'll be notified to pick up your beautiful new piece. You can pay the remaining balance then, or choose to pay the full amount upfront at the beginning of the project. We ensure every piece is perfect before it leaves our studio.
Pricing details and what affects the cost
Our pricing is based on the complexity, size, and time required for your custom engraving project. We offer transparent pricing to help you understand the investment in your unique piece.
Engraving size categories:
- Small/light engraving: $200 - $400
- Medium engraving: $400 - $800
- Large/full engraving: $800 and up
The final price is determined by the size of the engraving on your item, how long it will take to complete, and the intricacy of the design. Each letter and number also has a cost, which varies depending on the font and size selected.
